Wedding Planning Tip: How to Enhance Guests’ Experience

At Fresh LiME Events we try to think of everything possible to make the guests experience that much more enjoyable and memorable.   Whether you’re having a traditional church wedding with a reception at a posh country club afterwards or you’ve decided to go super personal with your wedding ceremony and reception on your family’s property, here are a few things that you can do before, after and during your wedding.  We’ve had a blast with these.

  • For guests taking pre-arranged transportation to and from a hotel, for example, we’ll hand out ice-cold water while guests get on the bus, or post-reception, we’ll be waiting at the bus as guests board handing out homemade chocolate chip cookies and candy for those munchies on the way back to the hotel.
  • Instead of guests hanging around without anything to do pre-ceremony, arrange for Pre-Wedding Ceremony Drinks of the couple’s favorite non-alcoholic drinks.
  • And as always, we absolutely love having custom Welcome Baskets / Out-of-Town Baskets waiting for guests in their rooms upon checking into the hotel.  It’s a little unexpected detail that really can set the tone for the entire weekend.  Work with your planner to create a custom basket that really speaks to who you are as a couple or pull through the look and feel of the wedding.  Stay tuned for our monthly series on Welcome Baskets.
  • Set out a group of cards on each of the tables for the wedding reception that give fun little facts about the wedding party.  Some guests might know the bride better than the groom, so this is a great way to learn a little more about the couple, but also about those in the wedding party.  It can be a fun icebreaker for mixed tables, as well.

Just a little squeeze of LiME….
