It’s finally happened.  A couple of months ago I mentioned that I had been asked to be the wedding blogger for Moffly Media, publishers of Greenwich Magazine, Westport Magazine, Darien/New Canaan Magazine and Stamford Magazine. The question’s been popped. Friends and family alerted. Calendars consulted. Now what? On Sunday March 14, from 11am – 5pm, The Loading Dock event space in association with Fresh Lime Events will hold a first time ever edited wedding showcase for chic brides. Over 30 talented vendors have been hand selected by stylists who know today’s bride and groom.

This day is for couples who want to see bespoke dresses, sample custom chocolates, taste cakes and vintage wines, meet flower and room designers with unique style, experiment with talented makeup artists, try on exquisite jewelry. This day is for couples who have no time to sift through the maze of bridal offerings, searching for a fresh approach.  On March 14, the industrial chic venue The Loading Dock and Fresh LiME Events will welcome engaged couples to experience a different way of wedding planning.

Fresh LiME Events was so excited to see that Lauren & Bill’s spring wedding was featured in the December 2009 issue of Greenwich Magazine!

Lauren and Bill got married on May 30^th at St Mary Parish in Greenwich, Connecticut, followed by a fabulous wedding reception at the Greenwich Country Club.  With 150 friends and family, the dancing never stopped.  The showstopper, though, was when Lauren’s father stood to say a few words.  After the usual “thanks for coming” and “I love yous,” Lauren’s entire family broke out in song reenacting the scene from “My Best Friend’s Wedding” by singing “I Say a Little Prayer for You.”  It was hilarious and definitely had Lauren in tears and hysterics.

Just before the holidays we got a call from Moffly Media, the publishers of the popular local Greenwich, Westport, Darien/New Canaan, and Stamford Magazines, and they asked Fresh LiME Events to be their featured wedding blogger on their website.  We are so excited to be bringing planning tips, trends and inspiration to Fairfield County!

Several months ago I came up with a different take on a modern all-white winter wedding design that I knew I had to shoot.  With the help of several great folks, the shoot came alive and a few weeks ago our design was featured on Style Me Pretty (you can find the original post here).  Needless to say we, at Fresh LiME Events, were honored!

I loved this design.  It was so freaking amazing on so many different levels that I thought we’d start 2010 off with a little eye-candy to give those newly engaged brides (congrats, by the way) a little inspiration as they start their planning process.  Loads of feathers.  Ghost Chairs.  Feather Boas.  Orchids (my fave).  Sheet Metal Menu Cards and Signs.

20,000 feathers and 15+ hours of gluing gave us this fab custom linen.  Style Me Pretty featured the end result, but here are just a few images of what that custom linen looked like along the way.

While my husband was busy demolishing the tile in our new house, I was covered head-to-toe in feathers (literally – wish I had pictures of that).  To do the entire linen, I was constantly moving the linen into new positions, and even resorted to nailing it to the wall to ensure feathers wouldn’t bend or crack.
